New Computer! (Loaded windows XP, now it powers down on setup) Please help.
Ok, so I am building a new compy for a friend, speccs include :
Video Card : Nvidia 9800 KO
Power Sup : 1300w ABS Power Supply
RAM : 6 gigs of DDR3
Processor : Intel Core 2 Quad 2.6 ghz
Mother Board : nForce 790i Ultra sli
Hard Drive : Seagate 7200 RPM 250 GB

Ok, so I dropped in all the parts as I have done quite a few times before, connected all the power cables as needed, and skimmed through the user manual to make sure they were appropriately placed.

Now, I started the windows installation, it installed just fine, then I walked away to return to the computer, that is now off, I powered it back on and it got to the Windows loading screen, then POOF, it shuts off, I tried it once more and no go still, I assume its the power supply that may be bad, but I am not sure... Anyways, any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Crios

have you gone through the troubleshooting? have you checked the heatsink on the processor, make sure its fastened well. i have never heard of ABS as a brand, was it a cheap brand? if so that would probably be your problem as you suggested.
