Smile Solved: Tried to change mouse, then neither worked, now it's back
Thanks everyone, I spent an hour or so last night reading through the posts (from my laptop) about mouses (mice?) not working and this morning I simply rebooted my desktop (again) and now the mouse works! Whew! I had pulled it (PS2 mouse) out from the back while I was dusting and vacuuming, thinking it was a good time to install my new mouse (USB), but that one didn't seem to work, so apparently I should just leave almost-well-enough alone. Maybe next week I'll try again to switch, but for now I'm just glad I have a mouse on this thing! Thanks for all the good advice you have in the forums.
