Question Solved: Computer crashes than Blue Screen of Death.

After various durations of using my laptop it will stop and show the BSoD. Sometimes after 6 hours sometimes after 3 minutes. And usually when i'm on the internet.

My brother recently fitted a wireless network, ''Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG'' is what it says.

I mention the wireless because it is the only new hardware i have installed recently.

However my computer worked fine after installing the wireless for 5 days than i got this problem so i'm not sure if they're connected.

This is the stop messsage i get:

And than once and only once so far i had this one:

It only said that one once and now it has continued to display the first one over and over again.

I sent the microsoft error report and it said that it is a Realtek driver. So went to realtek and downloaded the driver windows suggested.

I still get the problem.

I ran the ''driver verifier'' and selected all drivers my computer started being very slow after it restarted. so i used a restore point to go back before i ran the ''driver verifier''. The driver verifier didn't display any message during or after restart.

The last time i had the BSoD was 5 hours ago.

Thank You for your help.

Hey, can you try totally uninstalling any Realtek drivers from the laptop through device manager then reboot. After rebooting ignore the prompts to install drivers and carry on using the laptop as usual (all be it without sound) and see how long it lasts or if the BSoD reappears. Post back the results.

I uninstalled all the drivers with the name realtek and 3 hours and 50 minutes later i got the BSoD again.

This time the error report said:

Maybe it's the new wireless driver? Although the internet connection is fine.

Before i uninstalled all the realtek drivers i used msconfig and noticed i had 2 ''soundmans'' for startup. One was enabled and the other was unchecked. Maybe they were conflicting. Even after removing the drivers i still have a ''soundman.exe'' on startup (but it is unchecked and is not running when i use task manager).

This is what my service and start up looks like:

Ok, have you tried getting the latest wireless network adapter drivers off of the manufacturers website?

i did it before and it hasn't made any difference. i was thinking of uninstalling them but than i would have to use another computer to transfer the files.

i downloaded debugging tools for windows (x86) and the symbols and ran the thingy and it said this:

DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL (c5)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is
caused by drivers that have corrupted the system pool. Run the driver
verifier against any new (or suspect) drivers, and if that doesn't turn up
the culprit, then use gflags to enable special pool.
Arguments:
Arg1: 00000004, memory referenced
Arg2: 00000002, IRQL
Arg3: 00000001, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
Arg4: 8054bbb4, address which referenced memory

I searched for ''aswMon2.SYS'' and it turns out to be Avast! anti virus.

And i found this:

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?boa...Bthreadid=1165

I used to use AVG free but after upgrading it my internet didn't connect so i changed to Avast! That was before i installed the wireless network.

I turned my computer on this morning and went to Imeem.com than in a few seconds i got BSoD again.

So i did the bug check again and it gave a different code:

Ok, download the drivers for the wireless and sound now while you have the net. Then uninstall both checking 'remove drivers from computer' (it says something like that) if possible. Then reboot and install first the drivers for sound. Then reboot and install the wireless drivers and see how that goes.
