Hard disk sleeping
I installed a 300 gig hard drive last year and planned to use it for archiving so let it "go to sleep" if not being used. I now want to have it available at all times. I knew how to do this at one time but cannot remember. Help

Control Panel - Power Options, but beyond there it depends on the Windows version, which you don't include.

One hard disk sleeping
Windows, XP, SP3.

I think you missed my meaning. One hard drive is always asleep unless something on it is required.
I wish to change that and recall that there is a way to select either mode.
Control Panel Power controls system hibernation.

Actually under the Power Option there are options to set when hard disks power down. Its under the very first tab called Power Schemes. Even when its powered down as soon as something needs to access it it should spin back up.

Or is this an external hard drive?
