Unhappy How can I create an FDisk CD?
This is my first time on the forum, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask my question. I hope it is. My hard drive failed, & I bought a new one. I need to partition the new HD, and Microsoft only tells me to "use the fdisk & Format tools." The problem, I can't find them. Used to be I would use a floppy setup disk that had both fdisk & format on it. The Sony I'm working on doesn't HAVE a floppy. I've tried to find a way to create a setup CD, but no luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Windows installation will partition and format your disk during installation. That is presuming you are installing windows on this hard drive

Or is this going to be a second disk in the computer? If so then from with in Administrative tools/computer management/ disk manager you would locate the new drive as unallocated space, right click on it then initiate the disk, which will partition it and format it for you from there.

Don't use fdisk for any modern operating systems. Those old DOS tools are not appropriate for NT-based systems.

As mentioned, formatting and partitioning are part of the setup routine (or done in Disk Management for installed systems).
