Question BenQ FP71E Monitor Blacking Out
Hello, I've been having a few problems with my BenQ FP71E Monitor, as stated in the title..
The Monitor works fine, for a while, but after around 5 minutes, sometimes 10, the monitor will black out, upon close inspection, it is clear there is still a picture, but way too dark to make out, it would seem that the backlight is blowing, but i highly doubt this because:
1. My old, same make, monitor, started having this problem after about 2 years.
2. It was still under warranty, so i recieved this monitor, which has had the same problem since day one.
There seems to be 2 stages of death, one where the monitor goes dark, and after about a second, blacks completely.
This problem can be remedied for a short while by turning off the monitor, waiting for about 10 seconds, and turning it back on, but only for another 5 or 10 minutes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, i'm well and truly stumped on this one.
Thanks guys
-Jamie

Well it sounds like a defect in the monitor in any case, and it will require to be serviced by Benq or a monitor repair center. Benq's should have a 3 year warranty.

Thanks for the reply, but i'll keep hunting 'round and see if i get any other possible answers before condemning the monitor.. again.

Yep, not much you can do aside from exchange/replace it. If you're under the warranty then have it replaced.

Sounds like a backlight like you said.
