Angry NO Audio Device WILL Install On XP
I am currently converting an HP A6430F from Vista to XP, with chipset MCP61. I have gotten all the drivers to work except my Audio Device. After trying many audio drivers for the onboard device (alc888), I decided to install an internal Sound Blaster Audigy SE. After install that card the device did not work, so I updated the driver through Sound Blaster AutoUpdate Program, no luck. Updated it through Windows Update/Add New Device, still no luck... I scrapped that card and installed an external USB Sound Blaster X-Fi... I repeated all the steps above and I still have an issue with my sound devices. No Audio Device Will Install On This Copy Of XP with SP2 and SP3 (tried both ways).

Does anyone have an idea to help me fix this issue?

Any other problem devices? Is the audio detected in Device Manager? Has the chipset driver been installed?

Remove all the added parts and drivers until you get the original device working. Is the audio enabled in BIOS?

The Chipset Driver has been installed, and all other devices are working perfectly. Just the audio is having problems.

Audio is enabled in the Bios, and I have tried it both ways, rather all three, Auto/On/Off. No Luck

What exactly happens when you try to install? Do you get any error messages? Do the devices appear in Device Manager with an error?

Where did you get the driver?

Try this one for all Realtek HD codecs:

ftp://202.65.194.211/pc/audio/WDM_R202.zip
ftp://66.104.77.130/pc/audio/WDM_R202.zip
ftp://202.65.194.212/pc/audio/WDM_R202.zip

Make sure you clean out all the other driver attempts before installing a new one.

It installs with no issues, no errors. The device will show up in the device manager with the proper name, but an exclamation mark next to it. in the audio section of my control panel it says no audio devices installed.

i am downloading the codec you posted. ill let you know, but i think i have been down that track already.

When you tried the other ones, did you disable the onboard?

Go back to the device manager, uninstall the Realtek with the exclamation mark, and restart the system to redetect it. It has a 50/50 chance of straightening itself out.

Sorry, I have an extremely slow connection i will get back to you when i have the dl done. and no it is not 56k, my network is spliced to different parts of my store, and when they setup the network, they limited my dl rate to pre-historic internet connection speeds.
