A big RW and under it it says DVD +R DL
Another says:
COMPACK DISK REWRITABLE ultra speed
and the third says:
DVD and under it it says RW/R
I'm having problems burning a data disc on a DVD +R DVD. Nero 7 said it wouldn't burn it, I downloaded something called FinalBurner and I started it when I went to bed last night and in the morning it froze at 42%...BUT it had burned everything.
Now I am trying it again, but when I pop in my DVD, My Computer tells me that the Total Size is 0 and the Total Free Space is 0, and that it's a CD Drive, not a DVD drive.....do I need to install some drivers or something?
It does show the who 702mb for my normal CD, but nothing for my DVDs.

Finalburner very often freezes while burning, it's very delicate about around anything. Second, my burner also recognizes some disks(mini-DVDs and something else, can't remember what) as 0/0 byte disks, but can still burn to them using a software (like finalburner), and I earlier had a burner that was recognized as a CD-drive(being a DVD burner).

I will try it again when I go to work and I'll see what happens when I get back.
So in My Computer, it my drive is only recognized as a CD drive and no longer a DVD driver.....is that cool? | | Distinguished Member with 5,979 posts. | | Join Date: Dec 1969 Location: Varkaus/Finland/Northern EU Experience: Been THERE, done THAT ;E | | No longer? So it used to? Then it's actually not cool. You could try removing any filters Nero might've created for your drive. Search the forum with "dvd filter remove" keywords. | | Senior Member with 542 posts. | | Join Date: Jul 2006 Experience: Beginner | | I just tried to burn again and I thought I was filling it up the the DL mark, so I made sure it was enough for a single DVD and got the same error. Not enough room on disk. Now I DID uninstall Nero 7 as it just planed pissed me off, so you are saying that with that it recognized the DVD and without it, it doesn't?
Gotta jet to work, but will reinstall it tonight.
Thanks! | | Distinguished Member with 5,979 posts. | | Join Date: Dec 1969 Location: Varkaus/Finland/Northern EU Experience: Been THERE, done THAT ;E | | No, uninstalling Nero isn't enough if there are "filters" that have messed things up. I just remembered that removing them isn't actually going to help you. sorry.
I'm a little clueless of half the things you said in the last post... You won't need Nero for anything. About filling it up and trying to burn; the disks often have 2-5% less space than they're supposed to..
