Monitor Shutting Down After Reinstall
I'm working on a HP Pavillion a706n, an AMD 3000+ and an ATI 9600XT in it. The computer was working fine video wise. I reinstalled the OS (XP Pro) due to some registry issues. After the first restart it get's to the Windows load screen and right before the welcome screen the monitor shuts off, and doesn't come back on. I can get it to run in VGA mode and in safe mode but not in normal. I tried two different monitors (one HDMI LCD and one normal CRT) but it occured in both. I tried both the card and the onboard Omnichrome, neither worked. I tried installing the driver for the 9600XT during VGA mode but it tells me it's the wrong one. I'm wondering if I have the right driver.

I tried these things. The computer tells me the omnichrome driver isn't applicable.
