HI, I have an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard on a self build HTPC. I have a Samsung IDE HDD which isrunning Visat 32 bit fine. I wish to install a Maxtor 6L150S 233GB HDD via a SATA connection. To speed the transfer of files from my main desktop pc onto this HTPC I installed the Maxtor into my Dell Dimension 5150 using the SATA connection. XP detected it and I copied all my movies, pics etc onto it. When I connect the Maxtor into the HTPC it is not detected in BIOS. I have enabled SATA in the BIOS but still no joy.

Please can a anyone help?

What does device manager say?
any yellow or red problems?
I have the same board and I think i had problems at first and can not remember what I did Grrrr.
I know I had to change something in the BIOS and install the raid controller from the floppy that came with my motherboard.
So go explore the BIOS and see what you can find, enable any and all sata raid options, if that fails tell me what you did or didn't do and I will try and help
