Well, the thing is:
BIOS shows realistic temps (can't remember, something around 35 at idle. At least did, before installing the new HSF) Speedfan and all other software I've used show 2-15 C, depending if I look at the core or CPU temps, and depending on current and recent load.

I'll try AMD overdrive.

BTW, pics of the dual core center are attached.

Update: I can't use AMD overdrive. It won't start, saying: "AMD OverDrive cannot detect AMD 7-series chipset on this computer." Is my mobo crap? Or am I using the wrong version?

EDIT2: Checked to be sure, BIOS showed 18-19 C on CPU, system temp 32 C. Now I'm wondering? Is that the real temp? Or is my board a total mess? Except for working perfectly on other areas

I got that same msg when installing an older version. Did you download it from the amd/ati page? That is the newest version.

If the system runs OK, I would not worry too much about strange temps. The temp sensors used on a motherboard are pretty cheap items. A really accurate sensor would just about double the cost of an average board. Here is a link to the latest one.

Yeah, that's the one I tried.
I guess this runs OK. It just gets extreme slowup spikes at times, even in light desktop use, but I guess that's just Windows getting the fringes.
Thanks for all you help again. Hope someone else will find some use of this thread, too.
