You're welcome. The mobo can be shot while other components are still intact. Some might be damaged, some not. What is going to happen to your old computer? Is the shop keeping it (and giving you a small allowance on the new one? Are you keeping it instead? The reason I ask is this:

IF only the mobo is shot and nothing else.....then you have:

1. 80G HDD 7200rpm..........$15.00
2. 768MB PC3200..............$15.00
3. CDRW/DVD combo..........$5.00
4. AMD Sempron 3100+ CPU w/heatsink/fan....$35.00
5. 300w PSU................$10.00
6. Win XP Home.............$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
7. Tower case.............$10.00

What will be done with these parts? Are they being put into the new computer? Do you keep them so you can sell them? Approx top prices shown.............complete tower w bad mobo..........$50-$90.......
I would shoot for $35-$50.........

just something to think about or question the shop. Don't be afraid to ask or barter, etc.

Sounds like you went to someone who might treat you well. ALSO.........Don't forget about your printer. Take it there as well and see if it is broken also. Then go printer shopping if needed. Good luck............
