Question Printer not communicating
I recently moved and am setting up my computer and printer, just as it was at my previous residence. However, the printer is not communicating with the PC. It is an HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One that connects via USB cable. When I "add hardware" or "add printer" the computer cannot detect it. When I install it manually and try to print a test page, nothing happens. I have been through all the troubleshooting steps, and nothing works. Also, I have tried to connect the same printer to my laptop PC, with the same result, which makes me think something is wrong with the printer itself, perhaps the USB-out port. The photocopying function works fine offline, so I know the printer is in working condition. I have tried several different USB cables, again with the same result. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver from the disk that came with the printer. Nothing works. (PC operates on Windows XP, laptop on Vista.)
Any suggestions?

Did you remove all the HP software and do a new install of the software?
