Hi all, new user here. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400. I recently had an issue with Windows that caused me to do a full format and install. I run a computer repair business so this is nothing new to me. I did the install successfully, but ran into this issue when installing the video drivers.
With the correct drivers installed for the integrated Intel 945GM I get no video once windows has loaded. Dell splash screen, BIOS, Windows splash screen and safe mode all display with no issue. If I hook up an external monitor, and push Fn+F8 I get a picture on the external screen. While doing this I can change resolutions, and display settings and all works great, so I suspect the driver is working correctly Pushing Fn+F8 again, shuts off the external screen but I still get black on the laptop.

Anyone got any ideas? Cause I'm all out.
