Hi, I recently purchased a RM computer, and was wondering what RAM it would need to upgrade it. The specifications are as follows:
* RM Computer: Celeron 1.7gHz
* 256MB ram (DDR 333)
* 20 gigabyte Hard drive (IDE)
* CD rom drive
* Onboard graphics card
* PS2 ports
* Serial Ports
* USB ports
* Windows XP Professional
Also, its current RAM is as follows:
Samsung 256mb PC2100U - 25330 - AO
M368L3223DTL - CBO
256mb DDR PC2100 CL2.5

Please Help

You need to wait more then 16 minutes before bumping up a thread.

I've never heard of RM computers, but that's a pretty old and low end computer.

But your specs are contradictory. PC2100 is 266MHz DDR, and you also list 333Mhz DDR. I would advise you go to www.crucial.com and do their scan to see what memory they recommend.

Smile Crucial
Hi, Thanks for your post. I went onto crucial.com to look what it would need, but it's not listed on their large list, and the computer doesn't have internet. Is there anything else I could do?

PS. RM are mainly a school supplier to the UK

So, I need to go for either:266MHz DDR, or 333MHz DDR?

Well this says its 266MHz PC2100 DDR:
Samsung 256mb PC2100U - 25330 - AO
M368L3223DTL - CBO
256mb DDR PC2100 CL2.5

In many cases its easier to find 333 or 400MHz DDR as its more used and common, the faster memory should slow down to 266Mhz but there's no guarantee.

RM Computer
Would it be more likely to work if I could manage to get 266MHz?
