Exclamation Solved: sound card driver problem
Hello everyone;

I got a gateway MX7120 from one of my clients. I had to do a full restore. I got all the drivers from the gateway website they all worked expect the sound card driver. It gives an error that the sound card does not support the OS which is a windows XP pro. SP2. I went to manufacture website and found nothing about the driver.

Thanks

Brian

Someone seemed to have fixed no sound on that laptop with this driver: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...tem=ob-37058-1 I wonder how it's possible, but give it a try... After the correct sound driver from the gateway website: http://support.gateway.com/support/d...&uid=214368244

Unfortunately, that did not work. It would install but then fails.

Which one? Have you tried the one from the gateway site? Are you sure you used the right one last time? Did the laptop originally come with XP SP2?

I used both websites. I'm sure it came with service pack one.
