Question flashing lights?
what would cause the lights to flash on the keyboard above the Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock?

they all flash together for a few seconds at a time, intermittently.

I'm assuming that this happens without any other problems? What are you using for a keyboard? Any special "features" or software associated with the keyboard? Are you by any chance hitting any key or keys when this happens?

-- not hitting anything else.

At one point I thought it was an aftermarket USB connector that I had hooked up to the system but I unplugged that and it still happens.

Some other problems I have with the machine is that it will not always start on the first startup.

Sometimes it goes into, "do you want the last known good configuration" or that type of thing.

If I don't get the "beep" immediately after turning it on, I know it won't turn on properly.

Reset won't work either I usually have to turn off the power at the back, and then restart. When I finally get the "beep" -- then it will boot up properly.

i had this with the school computers once does your keybroad still work and software (like in the other post) if not then it could be that your cable is broken inside the cable cover (yea you would just tap it and flashing lights then keybroad would die )
