Computer Locking Up
Hi! I wasn't sure where exactly to put this as I still don't know exactly what the problem is but here we are anyways.

A few days ago my computer started locking up after no more than ~30 minutes of being on. I ran virus scans, hardware diagnostics, and then did a system restore to several days before it started and it still locks up. Now it seems that it mainly locks up when the computer idles for a bit. Does anybody have any ideas as to what may be the cause?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

Primary contenders: Heat and the Power Supply.

Try opening up your case and completely blowing out the dust using a can or two of compressed air. Make sure the fans are clear. Make sure you put the case back on before you run it again. If you leave the case off, you will have no airflow and will definitely have a heat problem.

Thanks for the response, but I should've mentioned.. I'm on a Sony VAIO laptop. Also I don't think the heat is the problem as it stays pretty cool.
