is it possible to boot from a IDE Slave hdd?
Hey,

I was wondering if it was possible for me to boot from an IDE Slave Hdd.

Yes, if it has an operating system on it but the computer has to be configured properly. Need more details.

Ok well one will have linux on it and the other will have windows 2000 and my sata hdd has vista on it.

My son has a laptop running Windows XP, Windows 98 and Linux. He uses this bootloader: http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/

Yes I know about Grub I just want to install them on seperate hard drives. FYI I will be using the vista bootloader. I just want to know if I can boot of the slave hard drive aswell.

Yes you can if it has an OS on it.
