Look at the PSU. It should show the amps available. (If there are 12V1 and 12V2, then ignore the CPU amp draw and subtract the card draw and the few extra amps from the 12V1 amperage). Go to the CPU mfg site, you should find its amp draw there somewhere. Power draw of of a graphics card can be found in watts in many reviews, just divide with 12. Subtract a few amps for RAM, HDDs, ODDs, etc. About 5 A should be enough for them.

I would bet if it doesn't caution you anywhere then it isn't an issue...as for ads well there usually are something called "requirements" for most computer components is what I was referring to.

BG-O thanks. I got it installed. The computer now still freezes as before, but doesn't anymore throw a striped diagonal pattern on the screen. Big improvement. 8-( I'll return the card; apparently onboard video is not my problem. I've invested enough time and money I guess. Must be the motherboard.

Rich-M. what I was referring to was that non-technical people who copy words and symbols off a computer box to make up an ad make tons of mistakes.
