No Signal To Monitor
My motherboard fried on my custom built PC, I have finally received a new one and reassembled it, however I am not getting any signal to my monitor. All of the hardware was checked before the new motherboard arrived and supposedly works fine. Any ideas?

intel dp35dp motherboard
intel core 2 duo processor e8400
geforce 8800 gts graphics card

the monitor is functional.
intel told me that i needed to update BIOS for the motherboard and processor to be compatible but I had no problems booting up and getting to the intel website to do so on my first assembly.

Since you didn't indicate a change in the model of the motherboard I assume that you replaced a DP35DP board with another DP35DP board.

The E8400 processor on a DP35DP board has multiple values, i.e. if you are using an E8400 sSpec number SLB9J the minimum BIOS version for that procesor is 0484. If you are using an E8400 sSpec number SLAPL the minimum BIOS version for that procesor is 0326.

http://processormatch.intel.com/Comp...ardname=DP35DP

Although you may have had no problem on the first board, the problem could have been that the first board you received had a later BIOS version than the second board you received.

If you are using the standard Intel cooler or any aftermarket cooler that uses the "push pin" arrangement to secure the cooler to the motherboard an improperly cooler will cause the same message to be displayed.

Before going through the process of getting another processor to update the BIOS I would first try reseating the processor cooler. If you are using the standard Intel cooler or an aftermarket cooler with "push pins" follow this procedure exactly.

Disconnect the machine from the power source, and press the Power On button for about 10-15 seconds to drain any residual charge from the capacitors.

Without removing the cooler take a flat blade screwdriver and turn the locking pins counterclockwise to the unlock position. With all the locking pins loose, without lifting up on the cooler GENTLY turn the cooler assembly left and right a couple of times (Just a couple of degrees each way). Turn the locking pin assemblies until the notch on the locking pins are perpendicular to the heatsink. Re-align the locking pins with the holes in the motherboard. Push down HARD on 2 pins at a time diagonal from each other, until all 4 pins are fully down and locked. Instead of pushing 2 pins at a time, you can also push down on the cooler and, push down HARD on each pin individually. Either method works equally well, however many people find that pushing downward on the cooler with one hand, and pushing each pin individually with the other hand is easier. After all 4 pins are down and locked push down HARD on each pin individually again. It is very important that the notches on the locking pins are perpendicular to the heatsink or the heatsink will not lock down.

After the processor cooler is fully down and locked, re-connect the power source, power on the machine and see if it will POST.
