Unhappy Microphone stops working after x ammount of time!
Hello This is my first post on these forums. I have this problem with my microphone that i first tought that was a Skype problem but know its not. So since i did not get this problem fixed from the help of skype support team im asking you guys.

The problem is that after x ammount of time my mircophone completly stops working untill i restart my computer. This often happens when im on skype speaking to a friend. What happens is that my mic just suddenly stops working and when that happens my CPU usage spikes from 5% to 50% for about 5 minutes then it goes back down to about 5%. The microphone remains not working untill i reboot my computer wich is kinda annoying to do 3 times a day only for this fault. Over at skype forums they think its a CPU fault a suggested me to download a software to keep track of my temperatures and thats what i did i found out that my temps are the same when my mic fails only difference i notice is that my CPU usage spikes up for few minutes so i think it is a CPU problem?

To fix the problem ive tryed to reinstall skype. Reinstall my soundcard driver. Take my sound card appart from my desktop and put it back on. Vacuum my fans and computer parts. All with no succes.

Im hoping someone here could have an idea or know whats causing this and what possible solutions there is to fix this.

Ive had this problem for about 1 month i would say, can't really give an exact date.

My soundcard is: a motherboard (ASUS maximus extreme ) with integrated soundcard. ( soundmax something )

And mic is
I have a Labtec desk mic 534 http://www.dictez.com/images/labtec_desk_mic_534.jpg

Heres a screenshot of my temperatures at the time of the mic failure ( they are all same all the time ): http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?i...nnormaldb0.png

My cpu is Intel core 2 duo e8400 with some googling i found out its max temp is 72.4C but over at skype forums they think that the 55C is to hot.

And finally heres the topic to skype forums http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=265121

Thank you for reading this topic. If you have any questions please post here or pm me. ~Roskamaster~
