you don't say what mb you have,
does it have an agp slot?
would be much better than pci,
.
if you have already tried a couple DIFFERENT manufacturer's cards,
you'll first have to make sure,
you have deleted ALL the old softwares,
that have been previously installed,
so that you can start from scratch,
.
ati does have an uninstall utility,
don't know about s3,
.
anyway, once all junk removed,
THEN,
G G O O O! with the new install,

uh,
you'd have to ACQUIRE one,
older cards are awfully cheap,
check with some of the mom & pop stores in your area,
.
i just said an agp card would be better,
.
but if you have to use what you have,
then do all the deleting and go....

what do i have to delete. my old drivers? if so then there are no old ones installed, only the driver for the card that is built into the MB.

uh,
read your first post back,
'when i put it in'
'...with two graphic car...'
.
did you actually INSTALL these cards?
that not only means putting the cards in the sockets,
it also means installing the drivers,
and other misc. software,
.
if you didn't do that,
guess no wonder they didn't work,

psychoclown,
not trying to be dense here......
but are you actually reading these posts?
i'm not quite getting WHAT you really are maybe trying to say,
.
can you answer my question in post #9,
did you actually install these cards?
as i described an install?
.
latest drivers,
- for the on-board vid?
- for the other cards?

yes i have installed the drivers for both the graphics cards.
i put the card in. turn on the pc. setup drivers then put in the monitor cable and the screen just stays on standby but i can hear sound and the hard drive and all other hardware starts up normally.
this is the same with both cards.

in your steps,
it should read,
when you go to uninstall one,
[i use safe mode],
so,
- boot into safe mode,
- uninstall all things software from installed apps list,
- uninstall all things hardware from device manager,
- shut down,
- install graphics card,
- hookup monitor,
- turn on pc,
- install drivers, other included sofware apps,
.
if you're turning the unit on, etc
THEN hooking up the monitor,
little bit out of sequence there,
