Hey,
I have recently just got a motherboard and CPU from a friend of mine. I have put the basics in it just to see if it will actually run and it does.
So I put my Windows XP disc in and booted from the disc and it proceeded with installation as normal, except when it reaches "Starting Windows" and then it gives me a BSOD straight away.
Thinking this would be
okay I restarted my PC and tried to boot from the files it copied onto my HDD, this did not happen.
I also tried changing the HDD to one with Windows XP pre-installed which gave me the options to boot in safe mode, optimised settings and normally etc. but as soon as I select "Start Windows Normally" it just restarts my PC.
Here are some specs:
Motherboard: Asus not too sure on model no. but it has PCI-E and support for sata drives.
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.00ghz
RAM: DDR2
I am currently stuck with a PCI graphics card untill this Friday when I get paid, not sure if this would cause any problems...
Thanks guys
