I wonder if anyone can help me? I use Mozilla Firefox as my internet browser on my Windows XP, I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes.
Once it finished I clicked open and it came up with a box saying the file "is an executable file. executable files may contain viruses or other malicious code that could harm your computer" etc .
I clicked ok, windows installer comes up but then I get an itunes + quicktime error message saying:
"Could not access network location iTunes\."
I click retry and the same happens over and over again.
I've tried downloading and installing via the apple update software, but I get an error there as well.

I need the version for my dads 4th gen iPod Nano, and I want to get an iPod Touch for myself(i have the 2nd gen nano), but can't do that until this works, the only other option is getting a new computer!?


-I am the administrator on my computer.
-I've checked my registry data, everythings okay (as far as i'm concerned)
-I've downloaded all updates i've become aware of

-I've tried downloading it on another user area, still getting the same messages
-I've followed instructions on the Apple website and various forums, blogs etc
- I have a few other problems with my computer too, I get 'could not access the network location..' messages frequently after downloads and opening microsoft word? Also, the accessories have disappeared off my computer and there is hardly anything in my start menu apart from the things I use regularly.


I've been trying to sort this out for months now, but nothing works. Please help,
