A Netgear router and adapter, which techies understand and I am familiar with, is what I am looking for. I discovered that ADSL2+ is coming fast enough that I’d like to have a native ADSL2+ router. I live in a non cabled area.

WIRELESS LAPTOP & PC ADAPTERS:

If you check those two pages, the last link on each seems to be just what I am looking for:
“maximum coverage & bandwidth - up to 300Mbps (Wireless-N)):
Top option for use in larger properties, e.g. town houses, detached houses. Heavy usage / Multiple Users - typically used for surfing, emailing, chat, printing, video & music streaming, online PC gaming and large file transfers.”
That’s almost an exact description of my online activities. Following those links to their logical conclusions:
RANGEMAX NEXT WIRELESS N ADSL 2+ MODEM ROUTER - DG834N:

RANGEMAX NEXT WIRELESS N USB ADAPTER – WN111:
HERE 1) Do those seem like good choices?
I found the router on e-bay, for £55.00. I found the adapter on e-bay, for £40.00. Take a couple of steps back.

Wireless-N Series:

Viewable from the first, that second link takes you to what looks to be the top of the line (WIRELESS-N SERIES ROUTER – DGN2000). I found it on e-bay - brand new, packaged and bundled with an adapter - for £99.00. That’s not a lot more than the second-tier version that I had just been looking at.
2) Do I need either of those two high end models?
Checklist:
- NETGEAR
- ADSL 2+ (native, rather than capable)
- Heavy usage
3) Could I possibly find a better price on the bundle than £99.00? 4) Could I just buy the DG834N and, as a compromise, use my existing Wireless Adapter (WG111T: HERE)? Would performance suffer much / would I want to compromise?
