Thumbs up Computer switches on and off several times before it is booted properly
When I switch on my PC it switches on and off several times and then starts up. Sometimes it does not start after switching on and off repeatedly, and I have to physically switch it on/off until it starts. Once it starts there is no problem it can run for hours.
When I switch off it switches off and stays off but occasionally it will start up again.
Could someone please help me solve this issue. What is the cause? How could it be repaired?

Thank you

I have no idea what the poll if for, but the 1st thing to do is "jump" and known good power supply to the machine and see if the problem pesists.

I am sorry, I didnt know the purpose of the poll. I just did it coz it was there. Thank you for your help. I'll try that, but i think there is more to it than just a power supply fault.

It very well may be more than a power supply fault, however you need to start at the beginning. If you rule out the power supply being the problem, then the next thing to check would be the front panel power switch, however failure of power switches is very rare.

If you rule out both the power supply and the front panel switch, then it is most likely defective start circuitry on the motherboard.
