Unhappy Dell Laitutude D600 Wireless not found? :S
Hi
I have tried following the other posts about this similar problem but have still had no success.

I recently installed a clean copy of windows xp professional from a seperate disc (Not a recovery disc) and now the wireless does not seem to be found

I have looked in the device manager and nothing is mentioned about it in there

I have also tried all the drivers available on the dell website

If you can help it would be very much appreaciated!
Thanks!

Do you have any errors showing in Device Manager for any hardware? What all does it list under the Networking section?

Also, worth checking, is that on the D600 you can disable the wireless in the BIOS. You can get into the BIOS using F2 on boot up.

under network adaptors : Broadcom 570x Gigabit Intergrated controller
Microsoft Loopback adaptor

and in other devices there is one called netowrk contoller

There is also an error on the Universal Serial Bus(USB) controller because of a missing driver. when trying to reinstall it it says "The file usbehci.sys on [unknown] is needed"

I checked the bios and the wireless was turned off but the card was enabled. I Turned the wireless back on though. Still no change

OK, so it is picking up the Wireless card just doesn't have the driver installed for it.

Also do you have at least Service Pack 1 or higher installed for Windows XP?

You also need to install the Intel chipset drivers I'm guessing.

Do any and all Windows Service Packs and Updates first.

Then install the Intel Mobile Chipset Driver from the Dell website.

Then try the Intel Pro Wireless 2100 or 2200 from Dell Or Intel.

Note that some Dell drivers one you run then simply extract the files to the folder they specify and do NOT install the actual driver. You then need to go to that driver and run the install/setup or go to Device Manager and choose to update the missing driver and point it to the location where the Dell drivers were extracted too.
