GPT partition on primary HDD- unable to install vista i have the latest 13" aluminum macbook. i threw in the vista disc to delete the osx partition and install vista cuz i'm not a big fan of leapard. i deleted the OSX partition, so the only partition left was the unallocated space, which took up the entire 160gb harddrive. but when i tried to select that partition to install windows, it said it was unable because the partition was formatted to GPT.
so i created a new partition taking up the entire harddrive, and that too was formatted to GPT so i couldn't install. then i deleted that partition, and created a partiion 20gb smaller than the entire harddrive, and vista couldn't install itself to that either.
i've looked up online various tools for formatting a GPT drive to NTFS, but all of them assume you have another HDD running windows and that the GPT drive is a secondary drive, not primary one. can anyone recomend me tools that will allow me to format my PRIMARY HDD from gpt to ntfs? thx
so the bottom line is, how can i go about formatting this primary harddrive from GPT to NTFS so that i can install vista? thx in advance |
