opening an alienware sentia m3450

i have been having problems charging my sentia as i have asked about in a post yesterday. i decided that i should probably see if there is anything visibly wrong with the dc connector circuit board, but i cannot seem to figure out how to access it. i figured u had to remove the bottom cover but that seems excess because the only way i can figure out how to do that involves removing the hdd, the heat sink and other various parts. someone please help!
