Solved: Laptop will not boot.
My wife has a Compaq laptop 3200 I think. Screen broke our tech guy has the old one so I cannot see it's designation exactly.

We have it connected to an outside monitor but it just stopped booting.
Power is getting to the computer and the monitor is working on other computer.

There is no indication that anything is happening. it just remains blank. Running XP Student.

Any ideas?

Hi, I think that you have to set the external monitor up in Control panel, or it just uses the existing default. That would be interesting with no screen,I will think about that.
It has to boot first. What state is it in are all the lights on? can you hear the hard drive? Does it beep?

computer will not boot
Thanks for your concern. Yesterday my wife checked all the connections and it worked. Wonderful what a check will do.

Thank you again
