Is this build compatible?
i am currently deciding to build a new computer since my other one isn't performing as well as I thought. Here are the specs (of the one I want to build):

ASUS M4A79 Deluxe AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

EVGA 01G-P3-1155-TR GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor Model HDZ940XCGIBOX - Retail

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM

Kingston 2GB 667MHz DDR2 ECC CL5 DIMM RAM (2 sticks)

Is everything here compatible?

I have a cd drive but I forgot it's type (LG multi of some sort with a SATA connector)

I have an antec mid-tower case with a 500watt power supply. Will I need to get a better power supply? especially since I'm planning to get another of the same graphics card for SLI and possibly keep adding since it can support quad SLI. What would a recommended power supply be? (only planning 2 way SLI).

Can I install 3 sticks of RAM of the exact same type and use all 6gb of it in 64 bit OS or will the different colored slot for the third one make an issue?

Such sloooow memory. Get 800mhz G.Skills, Corsair, Crucial or Kingston. Install 4GB or 8GB (2 sticks is best).

So the PSU is 500watt Antec - then that'll be fine for a single card. In the end, most people do not ever "upgrade" to SLI/CF... by the time the prices comes down/desire budget allows - a newer card is on the market that'll be faster by itself.

Like Asus 790FX board is about $200. You can get an AMD 780 for about $90 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128382 ) and use that $100 towards a faster card. Not worry so much about CLI vs CF... because AMD GPUs are better than Nvidia in most price points. You can switch a single card any time. With a SLI high-powered setup, you should have a 700~850watt PSU ($100~150).

Take the $100 savings on the mobo and put that towards the video card, like the ATI 4890 ($200~230) and you'll get almost the same performance as 2x gts250/9800 cards and buying another PSU and other cooling factors. heres a list:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ue&Order=PRICE

Also, save about $20~45 with the 9800GTX - The 250 is a renamed 9800 which is still an 8800GT. Here there are (some include a free game!) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...e=&srchInDesc=

Thanks for the tips. I'll think about upgrading the RAM since what I posted is my current RAM on my current build (not the one i'm planning for). Also thank you for the tips about SLI I think I'll just stay with my current mobo since the one you posted looks almost the exact same and it's model number is really close. I'll look at the graphics cards page you posted and I'll decide from there.
