Make glossy screen matte?
Hello everyone!

Does anyone know any way to make a glossy screen matte? I am thinking about buying a Lenovo S12 with Via Nano and nVidia Ion chipset, once it hits the market, but for me the glossy screen is at the moment a big no-go.

Glossy screens are only distracting (you always see yourself mirrored, and if there's any light around you see that too, mirrored in the screen), so that is why I will never ever want to work with such a screen.

That I miss trackpoints is another thing I could rant about, but anyway, that is unfortunately something that will never really come back.

Are there matte foils one could buy to put on the glossy screen? Or are there sprays to spray a matte film onto the glossy screen?

Greetings
H4N$L!

Practically any spray will void the warranty - there are quite a few, from matte spray paint, matte Fixative (used by artists to seal pencil and charcoal drawings) and photographer's matte spray (used to take the glare off a subject being photographed for display). Oddly, hairspray will do the same thing. Problem is, all types will probably etch and melt the screen slightly, and will probably shorten its life. There are also matte overlays as well, but they tend to darken the screen.

There is a reason for the glossy (or Brightview) screens - and that is they tend to be able to be seen in almost any environment. Yes, they also can double as a mirror in some cases, but to dull them down will ruin their advantage over the old flat matte screens.
