Ok. I have an HP Pavillion dv6233se notebook computer. I got this computer from my boyfriend's friend. He said that the harddrive crashed a few months ago (before we got the computer) and he put in a new harddrive and everything was ok, but then the computer stopped working again. Well he gave us the computer for free. Well I did have a bootleg copy of XP on the computer just so I could see if it even worked and it did. I ordered the recovery disk from HP and now I have a genuine copy of Vista on the computer. Well everything seems to be working just fine except that I have no sound and the built-in webcam is not working either. I have gone through and did everything on the HP troubleshooting website for both issues and they're still not working. I am at a loss as to what to do next. Well if your sound and cam stopped working after installing Vista, I would say that you need drivers. Don't know if you installed them (or reinstalled them) yet.

Click Here for your systems drivers on HPs website. I'd go for the audio driver first.

I have installed and re-installed all the drivers and there is still no sound and the webcam is still not working.
