Okay so I'll try and keep this simple.
-A PSU cable broke, causing my hard drive to die as it tried to repair a non-existent fault.
-I decided to buy a new graphics card, as I'd been meaning to for ages, and am sick of replacing broken stuff.
-I installed the new graphics card, which seemed to cause the computer to shut down then immediately restart eternally.
- I researched, and was told to get a new PSU, which I did.
-Nothing changed, and after heavy screwdriver work, I found that the computer only restarts when the CPU is plugged in.
-The computer still beeps when I remove the RAM, suggesting the CPU is not dead, and leading a techie friend of mine to suggest the motherboard is screwed.
--------Is this so, and if so, does that mean I damaged the motherboard when attempting to first install the Graphics card? Is there likely to be a way to repair the motherboard?
Thanks for your time everyone, I really appreciate it, you're saving a poor student from destitution.
The specs I know are
-Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 Zotac Graphics Card
-OCZ Stealthxstream 600w power supply
Sorry I don't know more...
