Monitor White Screen
Today I was checking my email when randomly my computer monitor went white and i couldn't see anything. The built in speakers on the monitor were still working and the system seemed to be running. I tried rebooting and unplugging and replugging the cords but it hasn't worked. I'm running windows vista sp 2 and my monitor is a compaq wf 1907. I've had this computer and monitor for several years so i doubt that it will still have its warrantly.

Thanks in advance to any replies i get

Kayjay21, there might be a problem with your graphics card or its drivers. I suggest you uninstall and reinstall your graphics driver. Have you checked the device manager for any malfunctioning drivers?

I haven't been able to. How do you suggest that i do it because i can't see what i'm doing with the white screen. Perhaps try connecting another monitor?

Hmm.that would be a sensible thing to do provided you have another monitor.

Thanks for replying, everyone. It appears we have a decent cross-section of people here and a lot of well thought-out discussion.
