Vista, no sound, and a Norton 360
I downloaded Norton 360 while renewing my regular Norton subscription three days ago. After the not so fun process of countless restarts and live update Norton 360 was on my computer. Then about 20 min later when attempting to log onto Ventrilo, I get this:

HR=DSERR_NODRIVER. No sound driver is available for use.

It's not recognizing my sound card. I've played with all of my sound options, including re-installing and updated my sound drivers.

I have audio in programs like Skype and iTunes, but no go in Ventrilo, Firefox or even basic windows sounds. Again I've updated and reinstalled my sound drivers, and everything is plugged in properly but I still don't have fully functional sound. I tried a system restore (Vista Fail) which failed but brought back windows sound, but then I didn't have internet connections, so I unrestored my system and am sitting back at square one.

I have a Realtek HD soundcard through HP with Vista Home Premium OS 32bit

Can any tech guru's help me with this issue ? is there a certain registry key that needs to be burned alive ? or does Vista just have it's period ?
