HP Pavilion vf52 LCD monitor, no backlights
I just received this monitor from a friend who say that it is broke. They explained to me that a green worm crawled across their screen back and forth from bottom to top eating their pixels until the screen was completely black. Ever since then the screen has not worked. When I plug it in I can faintly make out the picture of my OS and when I hit the menu button on the monitor I can faintly see the menu come up. So I know the screen works. The first time I plugged it in the backlights came on and the picture was perfect but within 5 seconds it went black again and I havn't been able to do that again. Please help me to resolve this issue or tell me if it can be resolved. Thanks.

Get a flashlight or torch and shine it on the screen and see it the image shows up where the light is

The back-light inverter most likely has gone.......you can most likely get another screen for the price of them plus installation

Thanks, that's pretty much what I was expecting. Any idea on what the worm thing was?
