Hi, I have recently built a new computer. This is the first time doing it so I'm not 100% sure if I have connected all cables correctly (though I believe i have).

When I am trying to start the computer, all fans starts but nothing happens at the screen. After a while there comes a message on the monitor that displays there is no signal (there probably never was any either). What is wrong and what should I do. I appreciate all help I can get.

The 4-pin power for the CPU would be the first thing to check (2x2, goes into the motherboard, near the CPU). 6-pin power for the graphics card would be next, if present. (3x2, goes into the graphics card)

After that, go to the problem build sticky thread. Build the rig outside of the case, etc.

I replugged the 2x2 power for the cpu. I'm plugging the monitor straight into the motherboard so there is no graphic card that can be faulty.

Seems like I have to build it from the beginning.

EDIT: Should I try to reattach the CPU?

Biggest possible concern would be the motherboard shorting out with the case or an extra standoff. Build it outside of the case as suggested in the sticky thread, starting from bare setup (mobo, CPU, one stick of RAM)

I have tried to build it outside with one stick of ram. The result is the same. However, I observed that the mouse did not have any light beneath when it was connected to the board.

EDIT: By the way, the power supply is for ATX motherboards but my motherboard is a mini-atx. I have connected the power via a 20 --> 24 pin cable. May this be the cause?
