mysterious vanishing keyboard
My keyboard has stopped responding. Here are the details:

I'm running Win Xp with a Microsoft USB Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 (IntelliType Pro).
Device Manager shows this keyboard and an old one (that is no longer attached to the PC), both with the yellow exclamation mark.

The Properties for each of these keyboards says...
"Microsoft successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device (Code 41)"

What I find unusual is that device manager thinks the old keyboard is plugged into the keyboard port (it is not) - and the location for the MS Comfort Curve 2000 keyboard (the one plugged in), device manager shows "Location: 0"

Device manager also shows "Other Devices" with a yellow question mark. When I click the + sign, "USB device" shows up underneath with a yellow exclamation mark.

The only other USB device plugged in is the Mouse (Miscrosoft USB Wireless), which is working fine with normal status in the device manager.

I tried uninstalling the old keyboard from the device manager, but it shows up again on reboot.

I tried plugging the keyboard into different USB ports. That did not work.

Please help. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
