Red face EMERGENCY!!computer not recognizing printer Compaq pressario c700/ hp psc 1209
I am in the middle of printing 150 wedding invitations at home im broke and cant take my issue to kinkos.

I have a compaq presario c700- windows vista laptop and a hp psc 1209 all-in-one printer. I was printing and bumped the power cord and now my computer will not recognize printer.

I tried deleting the printer and restarting the computer and then plugging back in the usb but it still is not detecting it.

I checked my usb's they work fine the printer also seem like it is fine all the right lights are on.

The printer window doesnt give me any options for adding a new printer it says that it will automatically detect a usb printer.

AHHHHH im going crazy i need these done for tommarrow please help please please please!!!

shelter,
welcome to tech support guy,
what you might try to begin with is to clear the print que - then see if you can re-send the job to the printer

but if you deleted the printer, you will most likely have to do a complete re-install as it says in your 'quick-start' guide - usb printers are 'picky' about the install order
- uninstall everything concerning the printer
- reboot
- insert install disc
- install the driver
- reboot
- hook up printer to the pc and turn it on
- install the rest of the software
- reboot
- print a test page
and you should be good to go

Only one thing appears to have happened: The power cord was bumped.

Going through an entire software reinstall doesn't seem to have anything to do with that. If the "bump" was hard enough to actually yank the cord from the printer, the much more likely cause is physical damage to the power connection on either the printer or the cord.

I can read, daniel. You don't need to resort to large, obnoxious fonts to prove a point. Other people can offer their opinions and suggestions too.
