Hi glentay, and welcome to TSG.

What video outputs (S-Video, Composite, VGA) do you have on the computer and what kind of video inputs are available on your TV?

I have an s-video. I have an older tv that has the yellow video hook up. I have an s-video cord with the yellow video wire to connect to the tv. How do I get my laptop to recognize the tv?

I found a download page for the 9410 User Guide. According to the guide, holding down the Fn key and tapping the F5 key will toggle between the built-in display and external monitor. I am not sure if it is for the VGA output only or also for the S-Video output. You may have to go into the Windows display properties control panel and specifically enable the S-Video output to run either NTSC or PAL configured video.
