Go for something like the HD 3850 agp. This is most likely the best you can get. Also make sure that you upgrade your psu aswell when you fit the new graphics card to make sure that you have enough wattage.

The X1650 is a good performer for what it costs. It's really a waste to put any more money than that into an old system, start saving for a fresh build after you get that...

Thumbs up Radeon X1650PRO
thx 4 all the input!! after reading an article (pcworld) about the pros/cons of the x1650pro & geforce 7600gs, they give a slight nod 2 the nvidia but since the ati card is still supported & the 7 series isn't, am going with ati. gotta be informed when buying this stuff that's 4 sure!! thx again

got the card installed it fine but i'll be danged if there's no psu connection inside the case 4 a 4-pin cable to connect the card with. only xtra cables inside were marked for the hdd & odd bays. so disappointed, thought i knew what i was doing ha. back 2 the drawing board!

The molex plugs that are marked for HDD and ODD do work perfectly for the card.

that's what i thought, but i tried both with the power cable supplied with the card, & each time i booted, got a blue screen that it was incompatible software etc so windows was shutting down. anyway, put the old card back in & rma'd it back 2 newegg & will just go with a card that doesn't need a supplemental power supply. thx 4 the response!!
