Exclamation Can open USB stick HELP PLEASE!!!
hi there, need some help please.
Right when i put in my USB stick it flashes in 'My Computer' then disappears. I cant get into it, when i click it before it flashes and disappears it say 'location is unvailable' along those lines.
PLEASE HELP NEED IT DESPERATLY

Oh and by the way the usb is a Sandisk Cruzer Micro 8gb.
If that helps. ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH NEEDED

Have you tried plugging the stick in to any other ports? It's possible you just have a bad port.

yep tried all of them, still nothing. I dont know if ive deleted a needed file or put a file on the usb which has done something????

probably not. Have you tried another stick? something other than the one that's giving you problems?

Just tried that, works fine, i also tried the usb that im getting problems on a different computer, and does exactly the same thing.

Same stick causes the same error on two different machines. Maybe a short of some kind in the stick? Rare, but I've heard of it. Have you tried plugging in the stick with the machine turned off, and then booting up with the stick already plugged in?

yep also tried that as normally will boot from usb but when i do this it just starts vista like normal.

Is the stick that's giving you problems the usb device you boot from normally?

no i dont from my usb, but if i leave it by accident it will try and boot from it. i try and boot from usb now and doesnt read it and starts vista like it would without usb.

Hhmmm, I'm out of ideas for the moment except for this: those cruzers aren't expensive, take the stick to a machine it'll work on and transfer data to another stick. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

probabaly have to buy new 1 as stick doesnt work my brothers laptop. 3 machines not working i think fault in stick. thanks for ur help. although i may try and open the stick up and have a fiddle.

How old is it? The Sandisk Cruzer Micro line has a 2 year warranty. If still within warranty and you still have proof of purchase or registered it when you bought it, you might be abe to get a replacement.
