Help Installing PSU and Graphics Card
I have purchased a PSU - CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W and a graphics card - HIS Hightech H467QT512P Radeon HD 4670 IceQ Turbo 512MB 128-bit. These were bought, following advice to improve the performance of my pc for certain games. In this case GTA IV.

My system at the moment:
Aspire M5100
AMD Phenom(tm) 8400 Triple-Core Processor
RAM 3GB
32 bit
graphics card ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO
I don`t know if this helps but also found this under system performance:
gaming graphics -1535 MB Total available graphics memory

I basically need help installing both of these. I usually find my way around pretty well. What I am wondering is if by simply following the users manuals I'll be able to install everything without problems. Should I get help from somebody who can handle this professionally? Could I follow a step by step from this forum?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

~Alex

It's not too difficult.
Make sure you uninstall the video drivers before you power
down and disconnect everything.
Can find them in control panel add/remove programs.
Programs and features for vista.

Disconnect all the external cables after powered down.
More than likely going to be working in the left side,so lay
it down on it's right side and remove the cover.

Before you work inside,go grab onto a water pipe or something
to ground yourself and discharge any static.

The video card has 1 or 2 screws in the back plate, depending
on the card.
The iceq probably uses 2.
Remove the screw.
At the other end of the video card is a latch at the motherboard.
You need to lift that up,then remove the card.

If you dont think you will remember the power supply connections,
write them down.
If you have a floppy drive, the connector needs to be lifted
slightly then pulled.
The large ATX connector and cpu connector have little latches
that need to be squeezed in to pull the plug.
Disconnect all the other power supply connectors.
There are 4 screws in the back holding the power supply in.
Remove them.
Hold the power supply while removing the last 1,so it doesn't
flop around.
Then remove it.
Put the new one in and screw it down.
Reconnect the power connectors.

You will probably need to remove 1 more back plate cover for the iceq fan.
I don't think the 4670 needs external power,so you should be
good to close up the computer and hook it back up.
the one below the card slot.
Once that is removed, insert the video card firmly till seated,
then screw it down.

Hook it back up and power on.
Install new video drivers.
