USB Flash Drive Error and Boot Question
My sister and I have identical Verbatim 8 GB Store and Go USBs. Mine received the error "The disk in drive F is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" I searched the Internet without luck for a solution. Test Disk was no help or I couldn't figure it out. One program I ran (I forgot which) says it detected no boot drive. I downloaded ARDC Data Recovery Tools and see it says you can import and export boot sector data. If I import the boot sector data from my sister's USB into mine, will it work again perfectly without harming either one? - or would that be too simple? I have important data on the drive. I had been emptying a possibly dying Windows 98 computer, and some of it is not backed up. I thought the USB would last long enough to do that. It is less than a year old. Thanks VERY much to anyone who can help.

Could you possibly try plugging the non-working USB Flash drive into a non-Windows computer, such as a Mac or Linux? However you will have to 'Safely Remove Hardware' on the Flash Drive for it to work.

No, unfortunately, I don't have a Mac or a Linux. I have never even seen one. (I am able to "Safely remove Hardware") Would that fix it? It sure would have been nice! Thank you anyway. Would you have any other suggestions? (I don't think a computer store would appreciate me testing their new Mac or Linux machines THAT much)
