Solved: Need help/advice with building a computer for the future.
So I want to now whether these parts actually CAN go together because this is my first time and my bro did it so easily >.>. Trust me, he won't help me . Here is a list of my hardware and their prices. Can you also let me know if I am getting ripped off? Plan of purchase: newegg.com.

Please note, these prices are rounded UP by about 1-10 cents each.
The total is rounded UP about $3.40.

No, the power supply won't do. Get a Corsair 400CX.
You won't need an aftermarket VGA cooler. Sound card is not needed, the onboard sound card is better than that toy. Two or more SATA cables are supposed to be included with the motherboard, but one extra won't harm you in case they aren't.
Silverstone is a good brand, but that high quality won't really be needed for a card reader, I'd say. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820223108 How about that? It's anyways a gamble if it will work, so...

Hard drive, I would spend the extra 30 $ for 4 times the space... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...532&name=640GB

I really have my doubts about that motherboard... Why the heck doesn't it support Phenom II 955? I'd go with a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P or something like that... Is there a reason for you naming the thread ".... for the future"? Future-proof needed? The Asus board doesn't offer any.

The parts that are reasonable to be bought will have changed in the future. No point making a list and buy it when it has outdated.
