Exclamation Hard disc clicking noise
Howdy

A few days ago the hard disk started to make a weird noise, when saving something or browsing a web page it began to make a clicking noise, in sorta regular intervals. Im pretty sure it is the hard disk and I believe is C (i have 2 internal hard discs, the other seems to be running ok) because this afternoon the comp restarted by itself while playing civilization IV (and winning urrrg) and I had to restarted like 7 times until I finally managed to enter Windows. During that Windows shows a black screen that say the system didnt started correctly the last time it ask to open Windows normally, using the last good configuration or enter safe mode. There is also a second counter which begin at 30 and after it finishes it choose the selected option (in case nobody press enter) but in the exact moment the click is heard on the HD, the counter stops, the comp stops responding and it has to be manually reseted.

So, is this a indicative of total HD failure? There is something to do or I absolutely must buy a new hard disk

Thnks 4 the help!

If this is the click of death, the more you use the drive before replacing it the greater the chance that you will not be able to recover your data from it or clone the disc to the new one. I get a drive clicking and I shut down the computer until I get the new drive.
