All when smoothly and its ready for HDD partitioning a various OS and software installing. But until I can be bothered to do that, I was just going to install one OS then reformat the HDD later to partition etc...
Anywho, I have a Windows 7 RC disk lying around so I decided I was going to install that. I booted it up with the disk in, started the instalation, but before I got past like the first few steps I was told the system couldnt find the DVD drive Drivers. Now this cheap-as-chips drive didnt come with drivers on a disk, and I can't find any on the net, could someone dirrect me to them?
Thanks alot,

The drive will work if it's not DOA, if you have everything connected to it, and if the motherboard isn't faulty and unable to use the port it's connected to.
As to why it says it can't find DVD drive drivers... Wow. Are you sure the 7 RC disk was burnt successfully?

Everything is connected up correctly, my uncle who has built many computers checked it all and the mobo was fine.
Yes the Windows 7 disk was fine, no errors accorded.
Ill post the exact wording of the error message in a moment.. | | Junior Member with 22 posts. | | Join Date: Jun 2009 Experience: Some Knowledge, but young | | This is the error:
"A CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.
Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive you can safely remove it for this step.
[Browse] [Ok] [Cancel] "
That's it, word for word..

I tried just sticking it on a USB and browsing to it, but its not detected :S
Im confused! I just want to see something other than the BIOS on my new build! | | Distinguished Member with 6,086 posts. | | Join Date: Dec 1969 Location: Varkaus/Finland/Northern EU Experience: Been THERE, done THAT ;E | | This is just depressingly hilarious... Windows installation wants you to install DVD drive drivers while being run from the DVD drive you're supposed to install drivers for.
Try the firmware update, otherwise, I really don't know. This is just so bizarre all around. | | Junior Member with 22 posts. | | Join Date: Jun 2009 Experience: Some Knowledge, but young | | Screw it, I'm installing Linux!
