Unhappy Juno, Norton 360, CHKDSK All Won't Run
Turned on my PC the other day and tried to get on internet through Juno. Said "Preparing to Dial" for several hours and went nowhere. Weird. ALso noticed my Norton 360 hadn't started up automatically as always. Not good. Yesterday I started up my PC again, only this time it gave me an error that strongly urged me to run my CHKDSK (don't have my PC in front of me, as my internet won't run). Some kind of search failed, etc. So I tried to run the CHKDSK utility, and I got a message telling me the system could not run the utility. I tried to manually start up my Norton 360, and it hung - would never start up. OK, so now I'm freaked out. Is it a virus? Is my HD going bad after just 3 yrs? Any advice would be helpful - I realize I need to post more details, but for now I don't have them. I'll update the post with them soon.
